Wendy Vargas

Wendy Vargas joined Kantaras Law in 2026 with more than a decade of experience as a family law practitioner and seven years as a former Probate and Guardianship Paralegal. Her passion for family law stems from her determination to keep clients informed and educated in the abilities and limitations of the court system in family law matters, as well as helping them navigate the emotional stress of it all.

Prior to Kantaras Law, Wendy represented low-income family law clients as a Family Law/Immigration attorney on the Family Law Team at Bay Area Legal Services in Tampa. Fluent in Spanish, she focused on immigrants, survivors of domestic violence and other vulnerable populations with compassionate advocacy and relentless determination. Prior to that, Wendy was a sole practitioner of her own firm for almost ten years, where she focused on family law matters, including parenting, timesharing, child support, dissolution, paternity, enforcement, and high-conflict litigation. She has sharpened her courtroom and negotiation skills in a way that make her an enormous asset to Kantaras Law clients.

Wendy earned her Bachelor of Arts in Criminology/Human Services at St. Leo University and her Juris Doctor from Florida A&M University.

Outside the office, Wendy can be found at the softball field as the GameChanger/Scorekeeper for Team Tampa Vargas. Wendy will find some shade between games to read on her Kindle or FaceTime her adult children. When not on the field, Wendy and her husband enjoy traveling and playing with their new puppy.
