K. Dean Kantaras is the owner and managing partner of K. Dean Kantaras, PA, also known as Kantaras Law. Dean is one of only 276 attorneys in Florida who is Board Certified in Marital and Family Law. He is part of an elite group of lawyers who has met rigorous standards met by the Florida Bar, demonstrating expertise and superior knowledge of the field of family law.

Dean built the firm with a deep understanding that clients are often facing one of life’s most difficult challenges. In hiring Kantaras Law, they want guidance, support and trust. At the same time, Dean knows clients also need an attorney that can view a case from all angles, be prepared for anything, and fight for them with tenacity and strength. Throughout the years, Dean has collected a team of attorneys and support staff that work seamlessly together to ensure clients receive the best advocacy possible.

After receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Florida in 1989, Dean knew that his true passion resided in the law. Dean achieved his lifelong goal of becoming a lawyer in 1992, when he obtained his Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University School of Law. After graduation, he returned to Florida to begin his practice. At the time, Dean did not know that working in family law would become his passion. However, after given the opportunity to practice this area as a young attorney, he knew that there was no other practice of law where he could utilize his courtroom talents while handling the complex matters of family law.

Dean started his marital and family law and immigration law sole proprietorship shortly thereafter, and incorporated K. Dean Kantaras, PA, in 1996. The law firm has offices in Tampa, Palm Harbor, and Largo, Florida, and manages cases throughout the state.

Dean is admitted to the Florida Bar, the United States District Court - Middle District of Florida, United States Court of Appeals - Eleventh Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. In Dean’s 33 years of practice, he has achieved an AV Preeminent rating with Martindale Hubble for his legal skills and professional ethics; he has been selected as a Florida Super Lawyer and is a published author of a Marital and Family Law article in Tampa Bay Magazine. Dean has also authored the chapter “Adapting to New Practices and Trends in Florida Family Law” in the 2012 Edition of “Strategies for Family Law in Florida”. Dean also completed the University of South Florida’s Family Mediation training and is now a Board-Certified Family Law Mediator.

He has presented in the NBI “Divorce Law: Common Mistakes in Dividing Assets” Seminar in Jacksonville, Florida in September of 2015 and presented the topic: “Failure to Consider Current and Future Income and Expenses”. He also presented in the NBI “Advanced Family Law” Seminar in Tampa, Florida in December of 2015, “Non-Traditional Family Law Structures and Paternity Disputes”.

Dean is fluent in both English and Greek.
